PRIVATE COACHING LESSONS

Private Coaching Lessons are a great option if you want to be actively involved in the training process with your dog. DURING PRIVATE COACHING LESSONS A CERTIFIED DOG TRAINER WILL WORK ONE-ON-ONE WITH YOU TO TEACH YOU HOW TO BEST TRAIN YOUR DOG. Expect to practice training or behavioral modification techniques every single day with your dog for a minimum of 15 minutes (more is always better!).

Instruction can take place at our training facility or in your home (must be within a 30 minute drive of our facility). Instruction can also take place virtually via Zoom or over the phone. While you are able to choose the location of instruction, please understand that certain commands and behavioral concerns will be easier and more effective to address in certain locations.

At each Private Coaching Lesson you will receive a lesson plan and any applicable handouts addressing commands and behavioral concerns for that particular lesson. A Private Coaching Lesson is 1 hour in length and may be a thorough discussion of behavioral concerns, an active training session regarding commands, or a combination of the both.

While the frequency of Private Coaching Lessons is entirely up to you, it is highly encouraged to schedule lessons weekly or every other week. Keeping a regular training schedule helps to facilitate consistency and allows the instructor to catch any errors in training before they inhibit your dog’s progress. Zelda’s Dog Academy’s average client utilizes 6-8 private coaching lessons.

DAY TRAINING LESSONS

Day Training Lessons are a great option if you have limited time to train your dog or you simply just don’t want to put in ALL the work and you want your dog to stay home with you at night. DURING DAY TRAINING LESSONS A CERTIFIED DOG TRAINER WILL WORK ONE-ON-ONE WITH THE DOG TO TEACH COMMANDS AND TO REDUCE UNWANTED BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS. While our certified trainer is doing most of the work, it is still necessary for the owner to be involved in the training process.

Instruction can take place at our training facility or in your home (as long as it is within a 30 minute drive of our facility). While you are able to choose the location of instruction, please understand that certain commands and behavioral concerns will be easier and more effective to address in certain locations.

At each Day Training Lesson a certified dog trainer will work one-on-one with your dog to teach command work and to reduce unwanted behavioral concerns for 1 hour. All dogs learn at a different pace. Our certified dog trainer will do their best to achieve your desired results in a timely manner, but no results are guaranteed.

Each time four (4) Day Training Lessons have been completed it is required that the owner schedule a Private Coaching Lesson. This is necessary so that all training information can be properly transferred to the owner. Our certified dog trainer will discuss the dog’s progress and review training exercises and commands with you.

BOARD & TRAIN PROGRAMS

Our Board & Train Programs are a great option if you have limited time to train your dog or you simply just don’t want to put in ALL the work and you are comfortable with sending your dog to stay with us. DURING OUR BOARD & TRAIN PROGRAMS CERTIFIED DOG TRAINERS WILL WORK ONE-ON-ONE WITH THE DOG TO TEACH COMMANDS AND TO REDUCE UNWANTED BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS. While our certified trainers are doing most of the work, it is still necessary for the owner to attend transfer training lessons at the end of the program.

Instruction will take place at both of our training facilities, in our outdoor training field, in our homes, and on field trips to various locations (i.e. local parks & trails, downtown Bozeman, dog-friendly stores).

Our Board & Train Programs are also designed to have your dog learn from all our trainers. Our goal is to develop a dog that will listen confidently in a wide-array of situations regardless of who is handling them.

During your dog’s Board & Train Program we will keep you up to date on their training progress daily - weekly, including photos and videos. Each Board & Train dog will have their own private kennel during their stay in our small-scale boarding facility that has a live-in caretaker. Each dog will receive plenty of time outside their kennel for training, enrichment, and exercise.
